Goodbye 2024, hello 2025! 👋

As I write this, I still can’t quite believe that 2024 is a thing of the past, and what a jam-packed year it was!

Throughout the year, we worked on an exciting range of projects with our existing partners and clients, as well as a host of new ones too!

It was also amazing to be recognised for our work when we were shortlisted for three top business awards and nominated for another.

It was an honour to be shortlisted in the Exeter Living Awards 2024 in both the ‘Best New Business’ and ‘Best Business Services’ award categories, and we were also shortlisted for the ‘Best Small Business Entrepreneur’ award at the Entreconf Awards 2024.

As well as these accolades, we were also nominated for a Notty Business Award in November and won the Two Short Nights Film Festival 48-hour film award with our sci-fi spoof, ‘Rise of the Gorgons’ back in February.

We kicked off 2024 by working closely with the team at Exeter Phoenix on a series of free educational media workshops for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, funded by the ‘Million Hours National Lottery fund’. The workshops were fully booked within a day, and it was great to see such a quick uptake!

To help spread the word, Sam appeared on BBC radio to talk about the project and its aims. Below is a snippet from the interview.

We’ve also been working with the lovely crew at the animation company, Yellow Mouse Studios, to consult on and help develop their new animation classes for young people, launching early this year.

It was also fantastic to talk to Media students at Exeter College about creative careers in the media and eSports industries alongside Charlie Anderson from One Up Productions, who we also worked with in 2024, collating and editing content for their new website.

As well as teaching young people digital media skills, we also ran training workshops for adults and businesses looking to up-skill themselves and their teams in content creation, including using Canva for design, on-camera confidence for presenting and professional video editing skills.

In the world of video production, we’ve been continuing to work on the informative series of PEGI Age Rating Guides for parents with the Games Rating Authority, and helping launch their brand-new TikTok account with some guides hitting tens of thousands of views.

Working with the team at Headway - the brain injury association, we filmed with courageous brain injury survivors, telling their stories as part of multiple, powerful fundraising campaigns, and also filmed the charity’s glamorous end-of-year Headway Awards in London, celebrating the hard work of volunteers, carers and survivors across the country.

We produced online video course material for the fantastic team at the School of Natural Skincare and their shiny new website, plus other course/membership content and student testimonial videos throughout the year.

Teaming up with marketing agency McQueenie Mulholland, we cut together a messaging video for Smarti Environmental, a pioneering, water-saving technology company, for their conference.

We also worked with the brilliant team at Re-flow Field Management over the course of the year, developing new, social media optimised video formats, producing client case studies, filming events and more as they look to expand in a very exciting 2025.

We’ve learnt a lot of helpful (some surprising!) recycling hints and tips producing this fun series of Recycling Rules with our friends at Coastal Recycling.

It was fascinating to work on a series of 7 films for the Torquay Cinema Heritage Project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other partners including Torbay Council, Torbay Culture and English Riviera.

The films explored Torquay’s rich connection with film, interviewing locals about their favourite cinema memories and experiences.

We had great fun working with Sentinel dVPN on a parody commercial as part of their presentation at the Cosmoverse conference in Dubai, one of the world’s largest crypto and Web3 conferences.

We worked with theatre production company ‘Documental’ as part of their new film Unreachable. It was great to film with the team, and the Pelicans group at the Positive Light Project.

Separately from our video and social media work with Share, we also soft launched our new party card game, ‘Doodle Duel!’ with a party at Exeter Tap House to celebrate the release of the first 100, limited-edition copies.

It was such a fun, packed-out night, and since the soft launch it’s been great to see so many people having fun with the game! The mission this year is to build on the incredible first sales, reactions and feedback and map out where to take it next!

So those are just some of the projects that we worked on throughout 2024, I still can’t believe we crammed it all in! With more exciting projects scheduled in for 2025, with clients new and old, it’s going to be exciting to see what the year has in store.

We hope you’ve all had an amazing start to the year, and we wish you all the best for 2025!
